just hypothetically

so this conversation actually took place in my house this week:

(in the middle of a serious conversation about abortion or something to that effect)

Housemate: But wait, you cant even bring up that situation hypothetically, because that couldn't hypothetically even happen.

and nobody even blinked or missed a beat... the conversation went on.

isn't the point of a hypothetical situation that ANYTHING can happen? and if you are going to have these deep, theological type of conversations, shouldn't somebody in the group know this?

...i am surrounded by idiots...

inside out

From the Inside Out - Hillsong United

A thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains And should I stumble again
I'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame

Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame

In my heart and my soul
Lord I give You control
Consume me from the inside out
Lord let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love you from the inside out

Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out

This amazing worship song has been in my head for the past week:
i think it pretty well sums up what God is doing in my life.

Also: yesterday morning, i put on my shirt and could not figure out why it felt funny...
then i looked down and realized it was inside out and backwards. oops.

Also also: my mom comes back from CA today!
(still waiting to see if that tattoo is really real or not...)

Brand New

So here we go, in a brand new year. (ok, I know it's almost the end of January, but hey, not all of us are that on top of things)
I have been feeling very challenged already this year to start over: become brand new. Thus, the new relationship status (single), the new habits of doing my devotions every day and running on a regular basis (ps
mom i did 3 mi the other day in under 27 min!), and the new blog. You like? My sister made it for me. She's great like that.
I am really striving to live a life that is pleasing to my God and one that is open to His plan and willing to be molded into the person He desires for me to become. I really wish i had a little witty comment to end this post with, but alas and alack... all i have is this.

...bleah, bleah...a little comment...

And there's nothing you can do about it

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
