teenage mutants?

today is the Booger's birthday. for those of you who don't know, the Booger is my little brother. he has also been known to answer to Goob, Boog, Xander, Meaderman, Sandy, Butt, and even sometimes Alex, among other things. today is his thirteenth birthday. this makes him a teenager. for his birthday, he got a refridgerator installed in his mouth. poor kid. now the question i have is do all children automatically become mutants when they hit the magic age of thirteen? i know that i was a pretty nasty thirteen year old. but did i hit mutant status? mabye its a boy thing, or maybe my brother is just special. maybe to make him feel better i'll start refering to him as Michelangelo... after all he's a teenager, and with his new internal headgear he's kind of a mutant (in a good way of course) and he's already got the martial arts down... all he needs now is to become a turtle! its brilliant, brilliant, brilliant i tell you! he'll be the coolest mutant teenager in Wyoming.
Happy Birthday Boog - I love you brother :)

the alarm can ring... the birds can peep.

my alarm went off at 7:00am. i moaned a little and hit the snooze button.
my alarm went off at 7:09am. i glared, told it no and hit the snooze button.
my alarm went off at 7:18am. the words probably came out of my mouth: "my bed is warm, my pillow's deep, today's the day i'm going to sleep." and then i hit the snooze button.
my alarm went off at 7:27am. i thought about calling Melissa to get her to take good notes for me in class. i decided i was too lazy to find my phone, so i just hit the snooze button.
my alarm went off at 7:36am. i realized that i should get up and go to class since it was my only one of the day after all. i rolled out of bed, threw on some clothes, pulled my hair into a ponytail and even put on a little makeup.
my alarm went off at 7:45am. i ran back into the bedroom to actually turn the alarm off (guess i got a little too good at the snooze button) and went to class.

i got to the building, and the door was locked.
i went to the back door, and it was locked too.
Dr Austin let me into the side door, which was also locked.
I knew i shouldn't have even bothered getting up for class - not even the building wanted me to get to class this morning.

but the sun is shining, and it is the weekend. i'm glad i got up today :)

the great gazoo.

yes, there was a martian on the flintstones. no, despite popular belief his name was not marvin or chad. his name is way better than that. i mean come one - who wouldn't wanna be named THE GREAT GAZOO?

its just too good! if i were a martian (which i guess i could technically call myself) i would want a cool name like that. its got the alliteration, and the absurdity, and is self-declaredly great... although i might want my martian name to be a little bit more memorable... any suggestions?

vegas, baby.

so you all remember that bridge that consumed my thoughts and my every waking hour for the past couple weeks? we took it to kentucky this weekend for the regional competition: 8 minutes, 33 seconds of construction, 1.6 inches of deflection, and a whole weekend of fun later, and we got THIRD PLACE and a trip to NATIONALS IN VEGAS!!!
